A LOOK AT THE GIRL BEHIND THE LENS

Before I tell your story, here’s a little bit of mine…

I’m Summer. I’m named that because my parents found out I was a girl on the first day of the season. My middle name, Dawn, is for my grandma, who I carry with me in more ways than one.

I’m a follower of Jesus and wife to my best friend & high school sweetheart, Dylan (who you’ll definitely meet if you decide to book me; he’s my built in second shooter)! I’m a big fan of creating stuff that matters and leaving spaces better than I found them—probably with a vanilla oat milk latte in hand.

I grew up in Littleton, Colorado and moved to Grand Junction in 2019 to begin my degree at Colorado Mesa University. Originally, I was going to school to be a teacher. I soon cultivated a passion for creativity through serving in all things media at church. It seemed as though opportunities to tell stories in the digital realm were falling into my lap and I knew I was being called to switch gears and pursue a different trajectory than I had envisioned for myself. Three major changes later, and I graduated with my B.A. in Mass Communication in 2023. It wasn't my “plan A,” but God has been revealing to me more and more that this is right I’m supposed to be (and I’m loving every minute of it)!

When I’m not filming or editing, you can probably find me studying or writing an essay (I’m working on a master’s degree in Spiritual Formation), reading a good book, riding around town on my moped, serving at church, listening to Taylor Swift, or getting another tattoo. I’m based in Grand Junction, but I’ll travel to wherever you are!
